Following the sad news about Keith
Howes passing, it is planned to hold a memorial tournament in his honour at Basildon Town Centre Bowl. They are waiting for
a new system from abroad which will enable all 20 lanes to be used, as soon as I have further details they will be posted
on this website.

The basic philosophy of The National
Organisation, The B.T.B.A. , is to promote and regulate Tenpin Bowling and has local associations in most counties to undertake this on their behalf.
All questions regarding bowling within Essex should be made initially to E.C.T.A. at the e-mail address at the bottom of this
page, and not directly to the B.T.B.A. Essex
County Tenpin Association, E.C.T.A., is the organisation representing all tenpin bowlers in our County. We provide
help and advice with setting up and running leagues and tournaments and advice on issues relating to BTBA rules and membership.
It has previously been difficult to pass information onto bowlers due to the large number
of centres within our region, so we have decided to create this website to interact with more of our members. This, hopefully,
will be a two way process with us letting you know of upcoming events or news items and for you, the bowlers, to let us know
what you would like to see on this site and giving us news information that we can include on it. It will also give you a
chance to ask questions of the committee, but please remember we are all volunteers and have other occupations and may not
answer your questions straight away, but will attempt to do so as soon as possible. Our Committee is made up of bowlers who have been elected to serve the County and the National
Organisation. Currently there are 12 committee members, which includes 5 Executive Committee members. We have sub-committees
representing Junior Bowling, Young Adults (18-24 years), Adults and Seniors. We also have a Legal Executive who deals with
any questions regarding BTBA rules. A list of these representatives can be found alongside, and a list of bowling centres
in our County. If you would like to become a part of our team please contact our Secretary we are always looking at expanding our committee,
especially at centres which currently do not have a representative.
